EFFECTS OF INTERNET’S CREATION

Internet is one of the most important inventions of 20^th century. It was invented in 1969 like consequence of the Cold War. In that year the first computers net: ARPANET was created. The purpose of this essay is to discuss the three main effects of Internet on the world.

The major effect has been in communications. Before Internet appeared, people used to talk face to face or by telephone; but nowadays, you can talk with friends of the entire world just with your computer. Internet created the social networks which changed our lives. For example, Facebook has more than one hundred million users. In 20 years, we will probably have contact with our partners only through the monitors!

The second main effect has been registered in journalism, because Internet has broken all limits. In the past, when somebody wanted to know the last events, he read newspapers, listened to radio or watching television. It is history! Internet developed the media’s convergence: the fusion between image, audio, video, and word. Currently, you find a lot of information on the World Wide Web.

Finally, the third most significant effect has been in sales. In Internet there are million web pages specializing in sale of any kind of products. Moreover, the on-line newspapers and the search engines have many advertisements. Thus, everybody can buy a lot of things from a PC. It is easy thanks to the on-line banks, the credit and debit cards, and other forms of payment.

All things considered about Internet are shocking: communications, journalism, and sales have had enormous changes. However, we can’t forget Internet was invented to help us and we are responsible of its use!
